A small poem !
As a parent, umpteen incidents happen in your life that leave you overwhelmed. The beautiful innocence of a child, the way they look at life, makes opportunities for pure poetry to emerge.

This is one such incident that happened between my friend Hema and her 7 yr old twin daughters-Adya and Satya, on one Sunday evening as the mother and the daughters were lazing around..
Hema : Why do I love you the way I do .. Why is the sky blue ? Adya : Ma, you tell that to us all the time, why don't you write that down.
( The girls have caught on to the fun by now :) )
Satya : Why dont you add something about the blankets that we have with us always
Hema : They love their blankets, also blow their trumpets
Hema : Angels have fallen asleep 'behold' now their wings will unfold

This is one such incident that happened between my friend Hema and her 7 yr old twin daughters-Adya and Satya, on one Sunday evening as the mother and the daughters were lazing around..
Hema : Why do I love you the way I do .. Why is the sky blue ? Adya : Ma, you tell that to us all the time, why don't you write that down.
Hema : Ok. Why dont you girls help me complete this poem- Adya and Satya are so dear , I always keep them near
( The girls have caught on to the fun by now :) )
Satya : Why dont you add something about the blankets that we have with us always
Hema : They love their blankets, also blow their trumpets
( The children would put one end of the blanket into their mouths, which would make it look like a trumpet )
Hema : Angels have fallen asleep 'behold' now their wings will unfold
( Hema would tell the children that once they go to sleep, wings grow on them and they turn in to Angels )
So the poem goes -
Why do I love you the way I do ..
Why is the sky blue ?
Adya and Satya are so dear ,
I always keep them near
They love their blankets,
also blow their trumpets

Why do I love you the way I do ..
Why is the sky blue ?
Adya and Satya are so dear ,
I always keep them near
They love their blankets,
also blow their trumpets
Angels have fallen asleep,
Behold! now their wings will unfold
Behold! now their wings will unfold
