Driving on Indian roads...
It was 8 am in the morning. I was rushing along the usual route to my music class and I was about to reach a cross road junction. I was about 200 mts away from the junction and had a full view of the other three roads. A jeep approximately the same distance as mine from the junction was coming from the right. A car was coming in from the left and a truck was coming in from the road ahead. Which meant that a few seconds more and we all would arrive at the junction at the same time. Now that was close to what actually happened. I said close because, the car on the left was a little late in reaching the junction, since there was a bump on that road.
But the truck, jeep and my car reached at the same time and ended up locking each other. I had blocked the jeep on the left who had blocked the truck. The only one who could move and hence release the lock was me. To my surprise just when I was about to drive ahead, the guy on the right caught up and squeezed in between the front of my car and the side of the truck - completing the deadlock. If I hadnt been irritated, I would have found the situation extremely hillarious.. ! I mean - None of us could even budge and the guy on the left, instead of letting the dead lock open, had tightened it. In fact inspite of the fact that I was extremely frustrated, I was laughing, shaking my head in disbilief. I tried looking at the guy on my left, intending to give him a dirty look. But he staunchely stared ahead focussing on crossing the junction.

We Indians are hillarious on the roads! really! There are times when I am driving through a narrow lane and a car comes from the front. Now the best way to get out of a narrow portion of a road is to have one of the cars back up. And most times, I happily back up letting the car in front to pass. But there are times when it wouldnt be possible for me to back and I would expect the person in front to reverse. However I am always hillariously surprised when the guy accelerates ahead and gently squeezes his car in the narrow lane expecting me to do the same.
Just the other day, I was driving on a highway when the signal went red. Since I did not want to get too close to the truck in the front, I stopped at a distance. I was enjoying the sight in front of me and cool breeze as I was waiting for the signal to clear, when from no where two bikes came and stopped between my car and the truck in front. I could only smile. Now I take extra measures to avoid such a situation. I take my car very close to the vehicle in front and dont allow any vehicle of any kind to come in between.
